Admissions and Referrals
The assessment and referral department at Poplar Springs Hospital is available to assist you 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 804-733-6874 or toll-free 866-546-2229.
Clinicians can answer questions regarding admission policies, insurance and most procedural questions about the hospital. Some people are afraid to seek help for their issues or situations. Our caring and compassionate staff of mental health specialists provide guidance and reassurance throughout the admissions process.
Assessment Process
Your call to us will be answered immediately by a behavioral health professional and a no-cost assessment will be scheduled. The assessment process involves a free, confidential, face-to-face interview. We ask questions about the current crisis as well as questions about any ongoing factors that might also affect the crisis situation. The assessment helps the clinician, the family and the individual to make the best decision about treatment alternatives.
After careful screening to determine the level of care needed, the person will either be admitted or a community referral will be made. Please call if you or a loved one is suffering from:
