Kids’ Corner

Adolescent patients in our residential units are offered many opportunities to express themselves in various ways. Some choose poetry, some choose art. Others choose music, drama and dance. Whatever the medium, therapeutic goals and learning can be enhanced through experimenting with a variety of expressions. Please take a moment to browse our gallery of work by our adolescents as well as some of the events in which they have participated.

Halloween Activities

October 2010
halloween-activitiesAround Halloween in Activity Therapy, we ask the patients to process their feelings about anxiety and fear. This year we have a growing pumpkin patch in the AT hallway in which the patients are anonymously identifying their fears and healthy ways to cope. I cordially invite everyone to come see the pumpkin patch as it truly speaks to all our efforts and the exceptional treatment that we provide. Some of the responses identify talking to unit staff, therapists and positive leisure skills. I know that sometimes we all wonder whether what we do is making a difference. Just come see the pumpkin patch and you will see that we all make a difference! Then keep visiting to see how your good work is allowing growth for our patients. Good job to all!
