Today’s adolescents face extraordinary pressures. When teens become overwhelmed with stressors at school, at home and in the community, Poplar Springs Hospital provides structured, short-term inpatient care in an atmosphere of support and respect.
Adolescents learn how to deal with their emotional and behavioral issues so they can quickly return home with better coping tools to deal with stress.
After a patient is assessed and admitted to the hospital, an expert clinical team creates an individualized treatment plan based on several evaluations: nutritional, psychiatric, health, social, psychological, nursing and activity therapy. Discharge planning begins immediately. All treatment plan interventions focus on preparing the patient for a return home — from art, music and recreation therapy to anger management and social skills groups.
Adolescents at Poplar Springs Hospital are surrounded by caring, highly trained specialists committed to improving the quality of life of the patients in their care.
Our staff of psychiatric nurses, mental health specialists, schoolteachers, case managers, activity therapists and the patient’s personal psychiatrist work together to help patients reach their highest potential.
