David Brady, D.O., Brings Expertise to Hospital, Military Unit

PETERSBURG, Va.—(Nov. 19, 2009)—Poplar Springs Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr. David Brady as the newest member of the hospital’s psychiatric staff, as the Clinical Director of Military Programs. Poplar Springs, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, is a full-service behavioral health hospital.

Dr. Brady attended the A.T. Still University of Health Sciences Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Illinois and trained in Psychiatry at the University of Virginia Roanoke-Salem Program. He has an extensive background in community and academic Psychiatry, as well as public and military healthcare. Dr. Brady has previously served as a commissioned officer in the reserve components of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, both as a physician and as a Medical Service Corp Officer.

Dr. Brady expressed his excitement about the opportunity to serve the men and women of the armed forces. “I have always had a deep respect for those individuals who are willing to lay their lives on the line to protect and serve others,” said Dr. Brady, clinical director of military programs at Poplar Springs. “It was an honor to have cared for our troops during my time with the military and I am very happy to again be given the opportunity to serve. I am pleased with the commitment that Poplar Springs Hospital is making to our armed forces members and I look forward to being a part of an innovative program of treatment for our active duty service men and women and their families.”

With a well-rounded background, complete with psychiatric services for both active military members and veterans, Brady will be a choice addition for Poplar Springs’ Active Duty Military Unit, which has treated hundreds of soldiers for the emotional and psychological effects of combat theater stress and post-deployment adjustment-related issues.

He brings a heightened level of expertise in a quickly growing area of psychiatric need in our community.”
